For over 50 years, Ole Hansen and Sons, Inc. (OHS) has owned and operated sand and gravel mines throughout Southern New Jersey. Currently, the company operates a 100-acre borrow pit in Smithville, New Jersey, the only permitted sand mine in Atlantic County. With sand reserves exceeding 1.0 million tons, this facility serves the local construction community by providing bank-run sand and gravel, structural fill, highway sub-base, septic sand and topsoil, both screened and unscreened.

All sale transactions are made using a licensed state-of-the-art weigh scale to ensure accuracy and fairness to valued customers.

Many local projects have used OHS sands including the Borgata Casino, Trump Marina Casino, Atlantic County Utilities Authority landfill cell construction, NJDOT highway improvements at RT 30, Rt 322, Rt 87 and Rt 40 as well as numerous housing communities and private homeowners.
